The SS AIR TW, a compact finesse baitcasting reel with an SS body, returns after a 10-year absence and has been equipped with the latest Daiwa technologies. The Hyper Drive Design System has been developed to ensure the original smooth transmission and frictionless performance for longer life. The air spool made of G1 duralumin engages immediately even with light bait weights and enables long casting distances with finesse lures. The gear support with 2 ball bearings and the new gearing provide more strength and less noise. The SS Magforce drag system offers more comfort when pitching and flipping, while smaller drag rotors on the spools reduce the weight by 25%. The new brake allows for finer adjustment of the brake wheel than before. The Zero Adjuster of the mechanical spool brake is preset for optimum casting distances (it is recommended NOT to change this setting). With fluorocarbon lines, for example, you can cast quite far with setting #2, and with setting #15 you can skip rigs on the water surface. With PE braid, you should set it to about 60% of the fluorocarbon setting to enjoy the excellent casting properties of the SS AIR TW.
The entire reel can be easily cleaned under running, lukewarm water and is suitable for use in saltwater.
