The new Minnow from OSP has a silhouette that resembles a real baitfish and is a standard lure that is often used at depths of 1 to 4 meters, regardless of the time of year. Typical minnows range in size from 7 to 13 cm, but we have opted for the 9 cm class, which has the necessary weight to allow the minnow to dive 4 m deep and is a similar size to a baitfish in this range. The Asura 89EX-DR allows long casts even with large lips, thanks to the movement of the tungsten center of gravity and the body shape, which has been carefully studied to improve drag. Thanks to its long lip, it has a high evasive ability and can dive at a steep angle and up to 4.2 m deep.
By using two high-density tungsten weights as movable weights, the centre of gravity movement is miniaturized and rolls to the tip of the tail. This significantly increases the flight range, which is usually the weak point of long-billed minnows. In addition, the center of gravity is lowered when swimming, which contributes to increased stability and reaction.
By placing honeycomb ribs inside the body, the wall thickness of the body has been reduced by around 40 % compared to our previous models. By reducing weight while maintaining strength, the center of gravity can be concentrated and responsive behavior can be achieved. A technology that is widely used in airplanes and ships.
To overcome the image of longbill minnows, which have a slender body with large lips that are difficult to fly, this is a driving force that increases the flight distance and at the same time leads to over 4 meters.
