Setting the brake
There are 4 modes under the side cover: F, P, N and XB:
- XB: The Monster Drive mode should be selected for large, heavy rigs. The XB mode with controls 1-3 is for heavy rigs in slim shapes, such as metal jigs and vibration lures. The XB mode with the numbers 4-8 is best suited for casting large lures. In these modes, the DC braking system slows down the spool immediately to prevent the lures from spinning in the air and to stabilize the flying position of the lures. Suitable lures for each setting range are: 4: crank baits, 5: large crank baits and swim baits, 6: large bluegill shaped baits, 7: large spinner baits, 8: large crawler baits and Alabama rigs. The higher the number on the scale, the stronger the drag is applied. There is a big difference in the brake setting between 4 and 5. If you want a setting in the middle, please set the F mode internally.
- F, P and N should be selected for casting 1/2-1oz regular bass rigs, and choose one that matches the line material on the reel. F: Fluorocarbon line, P: Braided PE line, N: Nylon monofilament.
