Die Idee hinter dem OSP HP Minnow ist, dass eine realistische Aktion des Köders immer kräftige Bisse erzeugt. Damit auch passive Fische einen Köder packen, müssen sie diesen für eine natürliche Beute halten. Der HP Minnow erreicht dies durch seine ideale Körperform, welche unnatürliche Bewegungen eliminiert. Durch die gewählten Materialien sinkt der HP Minnow sehr langsam und natürlich ab, mit Zupfern in die Rute lässt er sich scharf von links nach rechts ausbrechen, beim konstanten Einholen zittert das Hinterteil verlockend.

Der lange vertikale Schlitz im Körper hilft nicht nur bei der Bewegung des HP Minnow, durch den Schlitz kann der HP Minnow kinderleicht auf Offset-Haken aufgezogen und die Hakenspitze im Körper verborgen werden. Der HP Minnow eignet sich für den Einsatz an vielen verschiedenen Rigs: Dropshot, Texas und Carolina Rig, aber auch für den Einsatz am Jigkopf oder als Trailer am Skirted Jig.
